Before this I have tried Ubuntu 7.04 LiveCD installation, Totem plays without any problem. I think it uses xine as I have to install libxine- extracodecs to playback MP3. Same here with gxine. On the same machine using VMware, Ubuntu Totem plays video without any glitch.
I give up on gxine and install Automatix2 to get mplayer for firefox, and I tried to playback ogg. for sound only ogg, it playback ok, but the one with Mr Mandela video, it report that -- begin message-- Fatal Error Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (vo) device -- end message -- I think that Xubuntu in a way could not recognise the video device but Ubuntu can! Darren, I think you are right about this problem. In my case the 'bug' seems to be unpredictable. And when it happens, it stays. So I am depend much on vmware snapshot. -- Xubuntu - gxine crashed when started and log out to login screen. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/116901 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
