I Got very helpful suggestion from Colin Ian King. Since this, I got no
further freezes. So issue might related to wireless.

Colin, many thanks for your great support. You da man!

E-Mail from Colin:

Sure sounds like a wireless issue - we need to disable this to verify
this.

You have a Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter
which uses the ath9k driver, so, we should attempt to disable that.

You need to edit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf, so use:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

and add:

blacklist ath9k

save this and then run:

sudo update-initramfs -u -k all

and reboot, hopefully the driver will be not loaded and you can boot.
