I'm using Ubuntu-provided full disk encryption. It works great, and
normal IO use is still acceptable. However, it is very awful when it
comes to swapping: if the laptop has to swap even 200mb, it will
*completely* freeze up, the mouse won't even be movable, window manager
unresponsive, HD grinding, for 5+ mins while it does this.
If swap failed to mount for some reason, then it will freeze in this
grind for half an hour or more (at which point it's hard reset with all
loss of unsaved data).
Is there anything that can be done about this?
