Unfortunately, there isn't any output of the screen. No matter if in X
or on the console, the screen just freezes in the sense that it is not
updated anymore and the content at the time of the freeze becomes
static. There is no visual corruption in X11 either.

I'm not even sure if the kernel actually panics, or if it "just" hangs
in some ISR or something.
