This bug has broken my Lenovo T400. I have noticed it, but didn't expect it to be this bad. I left my machine on and went to sleep, in the morning, the screen was frozen. I turned it of, but then my video card didn't work anymore. I have do disassemble my laptop and re-flow the video card using a heat gun. Until fixed, I will be controlling my fan manually.
