Editing mozpluggerrc (post #4) didn't solved the issue here either. Also
I strongly suspect Unity to cause the problems since: When I do a
"metacity --replace" running unity all my windows an Unity env is lost
but then actually everything works as expected. Afterwards a "unity
--replace" made it failing again...

I also read on launchpad that sometimes mozplugger is put into the
[INVALID] section of firefox's pluginreg.dat. As mozplugger was not
listed in that section on my Desktop, it didn't helped anything.

I also tested the issue on the 12.04 Daily live-cd from 13.02.2012 and
there everything will work again, so I hope with upgrading to 12.04 it
will work again.
