Well I have confirmed this in every way I could, if I use cryptsetup to encrypt an entire drive gnome-mount will not mount it, however if I encrypt just a partition (even if the partition is composed of the entire drive) it mounts fine. This is probably a different bug than this report so I will try and find the bug report system for gnome- mount, file a bug there and then open a new bug here and link it to that report.
