Public bug reported:

The following command:

$ xdg-open file:///home/samth/sw/plt/doc/search/index.html?q=foo

fails with the error:

gvfs-open: file:///home/samth/sw/plt/doc/search/index.html%3Fq=foo:
error opening location: Error stating file
'/home/samth/sw/plt/doc/search/index.html?q=foo': No such file or
