i don't have access to another machine on this network at this moment in time. i'll try to get my friends laptop for testing purposes and i'll get back to you ASAP. from what i can tell you right now it seems the screen, keyboard, and mouse (sometimes if it doesn't result in a black screen if i'm already in the desktop by some amazing chance of fate) are the only things locked up, because i've been doing ftp/http transfers during a hang. they have seemingly have progress past the moment of the lock-up and i can see my nic led's rx/tx lights still blinking on the back of my case and my modems activity led is showing heavy traffic still during these hangs... but at the sametime my hdd led's show virtually no activity, so i'm not exactly sure.
