Is there any other way to temporary fix this problem?

I also tried to lock /etc/hosts by "chattr +i /etc/hosts", but the
network-manager's domain name and other saved setting still gets
disappeared after reboot & interface restart.

Please advise as to which config file should I lock?

Thanks a lot!
