Till, Sorry for the long time responding.
I installed python-qt3 this evening and followed the hp-setup. Yes, it worked, with one problem. I am using a DeskJet 610CL with standard US letter (8 1/2 x 11 in) paper. hp-toolbox "HP Device Manager" is showing "letter" for paper size on the "Print Settings" tab. The HP Printer Test Page is showing (in the box on the left labeled Imageable Area) that the page size is 8.0x10.21in. The box that surrounds the test page is offset towards the top. This is consistent with other things that I have printed - certain printouts have the top line cutoff. How do I convince the system that I am using letter size paper?
