Thank you for kindly answering, I already solved the problem. It was in fact a faulty hard disk, I had to buy a new one. It seemed unlikely at first 'cause I installed windos on the same hd and it worked. Thankfully kubuntu was more sensitive or I could have ended up loosing a lot of work. I installed kubuntu 11.10 on the new hard disk and everything's going fine.
