I can repeat a very similar panic at will by running a tiny test program that just retrieves the manufacturer field of the inserted DVD using a scsi passthrough command in wine (with either win32 or win64). This is on an updated ubuntu 11.10 x86_64. I only have a photo of my kernel panic, but here's the full mcelog:
