I've seen the problem with any ubuntu guest starting vom 10.04. any other versions I've not in use with ubuntu 11.10 or 11.04 as host. yes my testimage is a simple ubuntu oneiric server. I've installaed the guest from the offical ubuntu-11.10-server-amd64.iso.
