The version 1.4 is definitely the latest one. This new version use Client/server architecture so you can launch the server independently with the command "me-tv-server" from the application directory then launch the client with the command "me-tv-player". Before the first start of the server you should delete files from previous installation (in ~/.local/share/me-tv).
I'm in the process of creating a PPA for the version 1.4 (and documentation).
