I have fixed this bug on my pandaboard by re-compiling the mplayer2 package from source.
fix: apt-get build-dep mplayer2 apt-get source mplayer2 cd mplayer2-2.0-134-g84d8671 dpkg-buildpackage cd .. dpkg -i mplayer2_2.0-134-g84d8671-2build1_armel.deb ... replacing mplayer2 2.0-134-g84d8671-2build1 (med mplayer2_2.0-134-g84d8671-2build1_armel.deb) ...
