screen-4.0.3-14ubuntu1.2 Ubuntu 10.04.3 is affected, too. To workaround this one has to export the desired locale environment to the screen command, e.g. "en_US.utf8" with:
@reboot LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 screen -d -m myprogram PS. cron exports SHELL=/bin/sh to screen by default. Export e.g. SHELL=/bin/bash or add "-s /bin/bash" to screen options to change that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368582 Title: screen -U does not support UTF8 when launched at boot time via user crontab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/screen/+bug/368582/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
