So what rule is Ubuntu adopting which suppliers of nameserver information are supposed to follow?
In Debian the rule is: "If /sbin/resolvconf is present then send the information to /sbin/resolvconf" (regardless of whether or not /etc/resolv.conf is a symlink). Is Ubuntu's rule the following? "If /sbin/resolvconf is present and /etc/resolv.conf is a symlink to /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf then send the information to /sbin/resolvconf." -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/922677 Title: resolvconf should only convert /etc/resolv.conf to a symlink at initial installation time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/922677/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
