First of all, sorry for making one of the duplicate bug reports (bug 57227), I guess I didn't search with the correct keywords before posting it. See that bug report for more information about my GPU which was affected by this problem.
I didn't get the first warning message shown in the fix document about the X problem, but maybe that's because I'm actually using Kubuntu? In stead I got an empty Kubuntu boot/shutdown screen. (Empty meaning there was just the picture, no texts under it.)
