I just tried xorg-edgers, with the hopes that it would fix my gpu lockups/screen blackouts. Unfortunately it made the issue worse. In a java-based opengl game (minecraft) I now get screen blackouts like clockwork. Approximately every .5 seconds of playable response for every 3 or 4 seconds of black screen/lock. I had to ppa-purge unfortunately.
