Hello Jerry.

Thank you for your reply
may I send you some screen shots?
I also made a movie with my digital cam
of the process I could upload it for you
on my site IF you have broadband it should
download fast. We here in South Africa have
quite a slow ADSL.
Thanks
Victor

Subject: [Bug 106864] Re: Feisty boot fail "can't access tty" IDE SATA problem

Let's see if we can get a little more information. When you type "exit"
you are likely at a command line? If so, what do the last few lines on
the screen say?

As far as configurations, the one that worked for me is to plug the CD
drive into IDE1 and the hard drives into IDE2. My best guess that
changed the timing of the complex SCSI simulation code slightly so that
it would boot O.K.

A screen or so before the "can't access tty" had an "fsck" failure,
namely the fsck (file system check) code was trying to verify a device
that hadn't made it through the SCSI simulation code yet.

There are a couple notes from other people on this problem in my post
"Workarounds" on "Installation & Upgrades". Cheers, Jerry
