Reuben Thomas (rrt): I totally agree. If the pacakge can be found in a
still supported ubuntu version, it should work at least :) Currently
this message mean that there is a major compilation fault (byte order
setting) is done by the package maintainer which renders the package
totally unusable. Still better to remove, if there is no way to fix
this, since currently it's just annoying and made people thinking
(including me) that it must be an (x)mame/mess specific error. I've
trieded xmame/xmess sdl and x11 versions too: this problem everywhere.
I've tried package "mame" but it's not a solution for me since I need
the Commodore 65 emulator which is in only mess (if I am correct).
Anyway I can compile mame/mess myself too, just to note it would be
better to remove totally unusable packages from Ubuntu repositories if
there is no will to fix.
