There has been an update since this package was released which should workaround that particular issue for most cases. Please see if you're still having issue with your setup (once you've made sure you're using the most up to date packages as available in oneiric-updates):
network-manager (0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5) oneiric-proposed; urgency=low * debian/patches/fix_reading_intlist-like_ssids_965d586.patch: Fix numeric SSIDs parsing; if there is no semicolon, except the file is in new format (so just a valid, all-nums SSID rather than a integer list). (LP: #874328) * debian/patches/lp862134_resolv_conf_updates.patch: don't update routing and DNS for unmanaged devices or devices transitioning to unmanaged; in an attempt to keep possibly correct resolv.conf contents and routes. (LP: #862134) Then report back here if you're still having issues; for now I'll close this bug as Fix Released, even though there are some corner cases which may not work properly even with the patch above. ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/867833 Title: Network Manager overwriting /etc/resolv.conf with no information when static IP configured for ipv4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/867833/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
