I don't think someone has the answers and IMHO is stranger to have. In the meantime, doing other installations -but with PPC machines-, I've found these anomalies. With Ubuntu 10 and up in there are problems with the windfarm.ko kernel files. These problems aren't with release 9 -and, my apologies- with Debian. Same (and stranger) with the "old" Suse / YDL (problems) and Fedora (no problems, even with the latest experimental 16 for PPC). So, although the importance of this post is clearly low, nevertheless should be assigned. On the HW-side, recently at cryptome.org has appeared an article, attached. The expert writes interesting things about Toshiba bios, partially known here. He ends is open to "additions": maybe a chance.
