MY HARDWARE:
Kubuntu 4.7.3 Linux generic pae 3.2.0 rc7
Dell inspirion 400AMD Athlon Neo X2 Dual Core Processor 6850e (max speed 1800)
8 GB RAM

THE PROBLEM:

UPDATE-MANAGER CRASHES/FREEZES system, also sysetm log from before crash
NOT accessible. (This happens when the yellow icon appears, or before
the yellow icon appears, in the panel.) Computer also get really HOT.

Please ask for more information as necessary,
