** Description changed: I run Ubuntu 11.10 32-bit from LiveCD on Clevo D4J (model), D410J (product code) and run "System Testing". I configured the PPPoE connection. After this I run the networking tests and I get the following report: - networking/detect PASSED - networking/internet FAILED No Internet connection + networking/detect PASSED + networking/internet FAILED No Internet connection The report for networking/internet is a false negative. I have working internet connection: - root@ubuntu:~# /sbin/ifconfig - eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:90:f5:3e:5a:ca - inet6 addr: fe80::290:f5ff:fe3e:5aca/64 Scope:Link - UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 - RX packets:2206 errors:0 dropped:1 overruns:0 frame:0 - TX packets:1698 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 - collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 - RX bytes:1904527 (1.9 MB) TX bytes:452644 (452.6 KB) - Interrupt:19 Base address:0x1000 + root@ubuntu:~# /sbin/ifconfig + eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:90:f5:3e:5a:ca + inet6 addr: fe80::290:f5ff:fe3e:5aca/64 Scope:Link + UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 + RX packets:2206 errors:0 dropped:1 overruns:0 frame:0 + TX packets:1698 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 + collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 + RX bytes:1904527 (1.9 MB) TX bytes:452644 (452.6 KB) + Interrupt:19 Base address:0x1000 - lo Link encap:Local Loopback - inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 - inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host - UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 - RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 - TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 - collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 - RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) + lo Link encap:Local Loopback + inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 + inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host + UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 + RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 + TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 + collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 + RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) - ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol - inet addr:78.131.104.215 P-t-P:10.0.0.1 Mask:255.255.255.255 - UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1492 Metric:1 - RX packets:106 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 - TX packets:137 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 - collisions:0 txqueuelen:3 - RX bytes:18915 (18.9 KB) TX bytes:82224 (82.2 KB) + ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol + inet addr:78.131.104.215 P-t-P:10.0.0.1 Mask:255.255.255.255 + UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1492 Metric:1 + RX packets:106 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 + TX packets:137 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 + collisions:0 txqueuelen:3 + RX bytes:18915 (18.9 KB) TX bytes:82224 (82.2 KB) root@ubuntu:~# ping -c 3 www.ubuntu.com PING www.ubuntu.com (91.189.90.40) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from avocado.canonical.com (91.189.90.40): icmp_req=1 ttl=46 time=31.6 ms 64 bytes from avocado.canonical.com (91.189.90.40): icmp_req=2 ttl=46 time=31.7 ms 64 bytes from avocado.canonical.com (91.189.90.40): icmp_req=3 ttl=46 time=31.7 ms --- www.ubuntu.com ping statistics --- 3 packets transmitted, 3 received, 0% packet loss, time 2003ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 31.616/31.723/31.797/0.219 ms - root@ubuntu:~# + root@ubuntu:~# checkbox-gtk --version + 0.12.8
