Public bug reported: I have finally got crossfire working; two Radeon 4850. But now gnome- shell refuses to work with it set up. I can move the mouse on both monitors, but gnome-shell isn't running. If I try to run it from command line I get:
$ gnome-shell --replace --sync Window manager warning: Log level 16: Unable to register authentication agent: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: An authentication agent already exists for the given subject Window manager warning: Log level 16: Error registering polkit authentication agent: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: An authentication agent already exists for the given subject (polkit-error-quark 0) JS LOG: GNOME Shell started at Fri Dec 30 2011 21:05:53 GMT-0700 (MST) Window manager warning: Log level 16: The program 'gnome-shell' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 1247 error_code 8 request_code 7 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) I'm not sure what other information I can provide.
