apport did not work, two problems: - it started up chromium, even after I changed html assigment to firefox and changed the default browser to firefox too and restarted the system. - in the end after starting firefox manually it said the the ntfs-3g has not been installed.
I remember that I started with Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 3 and upgraded every time to the current situation, maybe time to do a clean install?
