They (Canonical) can't take care of the problem if it's a hardware issue. Buggy hardware is not unheard of, but it's unfortunately the worst case scenario because in order to fix the problem the hardware either has to be recalled and replaced with non-sucky hardware OR a software fix has to be made for a particular kind of broken hardware. The problem with the latter solution is that it will often create more problems than it solves.
Beware of cheap computers.
