This is update:

Trying to install OS on one of the IDE/ata hard drive, get a very odd
error msg. Usually after a hdd is picked, it should promt for format the
hdd and os installation start. I did delete the disk and create a new
partition still get get the same error msg.

"Windows XP Professional Setup

To Install Windows XP on the partition you selcted,
Setup must write some startup fiels to the following disk:

381555 MB Disck 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR]

However, this disk dos not contain a Windows XP-compatibale
parition.

To continue installing Windows XP, return to the partion selection
screen and create a Windows XP-compaitbnle parition on the disk aove. If
there is no free space on the disck, delete an existing patition, and
then create a new one.

To return to the partition selections screen, press ENTER."
