The vdt-globus-common package that is reported to clash with globus- common-progs is a third party package. The VDT globus packages contains the same software as the globus packages in Debisn/Ubuntu. That they clash is to be expected, but is not a packaging problem with the globus packages in Debian/Ubuntu.
As a user you should decide whether you want to use the packages in Debian/Ubuntu or the ones in the VDT third party distribution. You should take all globus packages from the same repository. Mixing packages from the two distributions is not a good idea, since you will get conflicting dependencies, as you have found out. ** Changed in: globus-common (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901328 Title: package globus-gram-client-tools and ldg clash with gsissh To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/globus-common/+bug/901328/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
