Public bug reported:
No Menu available/visible in revelation nor in the global menubar.
This problem appears on my notebook with 11.10 (fresh install)
On my desktop PC, with ubuntu 11.10 (dist-upgraded from 11.04) it works.
did not succeed by deinstalling all the appmenu packages to disable global
menubar as suggested elsewhere; reinstalled them all so it now shows:
dpkg --get-selections |grep appmen
appmenu-gtk install
appmenu-gtk3 install
appmenu-qt install
indicator-appmenu install
indicator-appmenu-gtk2 install
indicator-appmenu-tools install
