Same bug, running new Mint 12 installation on AMD machine with nVidia GeForce 8400 GS video card. Encountered problem first when changing fonts under Advanced Options, and saw that already had been reported as a bug. Then encountered same or similar bug trying to install network printer (and running into the other printer bug- at first it refused to install printer and then on second or third attempt it froze system). Then encountered same bug switching from or closing Firefox window on another session.
Some observations: system is frozen from interacting with mouse commands. Cursor moves but clicks are ineffectual. Almost as if that Gnome3 menu is invisibly activated from the top-left of the screen. Sometimes that special menu actually does appear and shows available applications, after pressing Esc or Enter. In addition, applications continue to run. By clicking random buttons eventually application window for Firefox appeared and showed that it had been receiving inputs from keyboard while mouse button was frozen out. Top and bottom bars continue to function, date/time continues to be updated, but available applications are not shown and disappear from bars. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
