matteo: Please do the following to help us see whether or not your
touchpad is functioning.

 1. Install input-utils, either from the software center or by running 'sudo
apt-get install input-utils'.
 2. Switch to a virtual terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 and log in.
 3. Run 'sudo lsinput' and identify your touchpad in the output. You can scroll
up or down using Shift+PgUp and Shift+PgDown. At the top of the section for
your device you'll see a line that reads "/dev/input/event" followed by a
number. Note this number for the next step.
 4. Run 'sudo input-events <n> | tee events.txt', replacing <n> with the number
you identified in step 3. Now run your finger over the touchpad, then press
Ctrl+C to exit input-events.
 5. Press Ctrl-Alt+F7 to return to your desktop.

After doing this, attach the events.txt file to this bug. Thanks!
