I am facing exactly the same problem. There is a similar bug reported here:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi/+question/175746 I have the same motherboard intel D102GCC2. In my case even with acpi=off it does not boot but I found out somewhere that if the USB in the BIOS are disabled then it works and it actually did. However, with USB disabled I can not access any USB devices and in my case I have an USB mouse. I am still using the old kernel from previous distribution. The problem has not solved yet with the latest kernel (3.0.0.13). Thanks in advance. Hope that a fix may be available soon. ** Attachment added: "Hardware information" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/883441/+attachment/2621699/+files/hwinfo.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/883441 Title: Kernel 3.0 (11.10 default kernel) won't boot unless acpi=off, worked fine with the default kernels of the 3 previous releases To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/883441/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
