@Thane: This is potentially very helpful information, thanks! I'm not entirely certain, but I think that selecting System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects -> None disables Compiz entirely, which, if so, would confirm that Compiz is implicated (which we already suspected). However, if changing this setting does NOT disable Compiz entirely, but only certain parst of it, then is could be quite helpful diagnostic information indeed, especially if changing the setting only effects a few aspects of Compiz.
So, does anyone know exactly what changing this setting does? Perhaps disable OpenGL w/in Compiz? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/872207 Title: When Firefox is running in Unity, drop-down menus sometime close when opened To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/872207/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
