I will try to clarify my point. The usage scenario that this bug is try to resolve is that of a user that purely uses the mouse or touch-pad to load an application. No keyboard.
If I was to give unity to any number of people in my organisation they would go nuts over how many mouse clicks are required to find and load an application. Ubuntu Unity --------------- Click "Dash" -> Click "More Apps" -> Click "Filter Results" -> Click "Accessories" -> Click "Disk Usage Analyser" = 5 Clicks or Click "Dash" -> Click "More Apps" -> Click "See 118 more results" -> Click window scroll bar and drag down -> Click "Disk Usage Analyser" = 5 Clicks Windows 7 ------------ Click "Start" -> Click "All Programs" -> Click "Accessories" -> Click "Paint" = 4 Clicks or Click "Start" -> Hover over "All Programs" -> Click "Accessories" -> Click "Paint" = 3 Clicks Linux Mint 12 --------------- Click "Start" -> Hover over "Accessories" -> Click "Disk Usage Analyser" = 2 Clicks Mac OSX ---------- Don't know for sure because I don't own one, but I can imagine that it is not more than a couple of times. --------- I know what you are going to say. Why not just press the super key and type what you want. That is not my point. Not everybody knows or wants to learn short-cut keys. Especially in business, people just want to get their work done. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/899209 Title: Unity Dash - Too many mouse clicks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/899209/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
