I experience the same problem.

I think it is very important one. If you do not have the LibreOffice
icon in the launcher before upgrading, you will not be able to add one.
That's because besides not being visible using alt-tab, the icon does
not appear in the launcher if not executed from there. It is very
annoying. Each time I want to switch to a already open document, I need
to click alt-f2 and choose LibreOffice from execution history. I tried
to google for the way to add an icon to the launcher, but all the
answers say to just execute application, right-click on the icon and
choose "keep in launcher" option .
