You're mixing too many stuff in a single report. First, the package name you were looking for is "libv4l-0", thus the command to find out the list of installed files is "dpkg -L libv4l-0". Are you sure that skype is not a shell alias that sets LD_PRELOAD to another value? Because it doesn't make sense that the error reported uses another path than the one that you gave as input...
For the other problems, it's highly unlikely that dpkg dropped the list of installed files. Please give us the output of the following commands: ls -al /var/lib/dpkg/info/libdrm-radeon1*.list dpkg -L libdrm-radeon1 | wc -l I bet that synaptic is not fully multiarch-aware and that it's confused by the non-existence of /var/lib/dpkg/info/libdrm-radeon1.list which has been replaced by /var/lib/dpkg/info/libdrm-radeon1:386.list. Thus I'm reassigning it there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886463 Title: Missing files after installing package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/886463/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
