Thanks for taking the time to submit this bug. The file /etc/ldap/ldap.conf, as installed by default, should have all lines commented out (starting with a '#'). Could you edit that file and make sure each line starts with a '#'?
Do you know when and why slapd got installed? Was it needed for another package, or just a test? If, as you say you don't use it, you could do sudo apt-get purge slapd libldap-2.4-2 ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/891938 Title: package slapd 2.4.25-1.1ubuntu4.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/891938/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
