** Description changed: I have a built-in wifi adapter and a brand new USB wifi adapter plugged into my netbook. Both are found by network-manager and both can "see" my - home wifi network. However, only the built-in adapter is able to - connect. When trying to connect with the USB adapter, I am prompted for - the passphrase, but after a while, I am prompted for the passphrase a - second time. Then again, after a while I am prompted for the passphrase - a third time. Then it fails, saying the network has been disconnected. + home wifi network ("MMM-net"). However, only the built-in adapter is + able to connect. When trying to connect with the USB adapter, I am + prompted for the passphrase, but after a while, I am prompted for the + passphrase a second time. Then again, after a while I am prompted for + the passphrase a third time. Then it fails, saying the network has been + disconnected. I've tried turning off the built-in adapter (in case this 'confuses' the USB adapter), but this turns off both adapters (i.e. it turns of WiFi networking off completely).
