I checked /var/log/auth.log, and found the following: Nov 22 07:19:13 hostname xscreensaver: pam_krb5(xscreensaver:auth): (user username) krb5_init_context failed: Permission denied Nov 22 07:19:16 hostname unix_chkpwd[23796]: password check failed for user (username) Nov 22 07:19:16 hostname xscreensaver: pam_unix(xscreensaver:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=1001 euid=1001 tty=:0.0 ruser= rhost= user=username Nov 22 07:19:17 hostname xscreensaver[23792]: FAILED LOGIN 1 ON DISPLAY ":0.0", FOR "username" Nov 22 07:19:18 hostname xscreensaver[23792]: pam_krb5(xscreensaver:auth): (user username) krb5_init_context failed: Permission denied
I'm not sure why I'm getting the error from krb5_init_context, since my Kerberos configuration didn't change between 11.04 and 11.10. I tried gnome-screensaver again, and I'm getting the same errors from it as well: Nov 22 07:22:37 hostname gnome-screensaver-dialog: pam_krb5(gnome-screensaver:auth): (user username) krb5_init_context failed: Permission denied Nov 22 07:22:42 hostname unix_chkpwd[24275]: password check failed for user (username) Nov 22 07:22:42 hostname gnome-screensaver-dialog: pam_unix(gnome-screensaver:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=1001 euid=1001 tty=:0.0 ruser= rhost= user=username Nov 22 07:22:43 hostname gnome-screensaver-dialog: PAM unable to dlopen(pam_gnome_keyring.so): /lib/security/pam_gnome_keyring.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Nov 22 07:22:43 hostname gnome-screensaver-dialog: PAM adding faulty module: pam_gnome_keyring.so Nov 22 07:22:43 hostname gnome-screensaver-dialog: pam_krb5(gnome-screensaver:auth): (user username) krb5_init_context failed: Permission denied -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/891839 Title: xscreensaver will not unlock when using Kerberos authentication To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xscreensaver/+bug/891839/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
