The bug report on the PHP site clearly indicates that the PHP developers
believe there is a real problem. However, edgy is now past upstream
version freeze. Unless this bug is particularly important (and worth
backporting the fix), we will probably simply wait until upstream
release php5 5.2.x and include that in the next Ubuntu release, edgy+1.
