I'm reopening the bug. I can reproduce it on natty on my netbook. Fwiw, I found that I could resolve it by doing:
echo 40 > /sys/module/psmouse/parameters/rate it seems to make the touchpad a bit more jittery (which is acceptable for me when in a situation where I want to max out battery life). Perhaps a value of 60 would be a better compromise. The default appears to be 100. I'm not sure what package exactly is responsible for this sysfs setting; I'm going to go ahead and assume the kernel for now. ** Package changed: ubuntu => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194489 Title: ps2 synaptics touchpad causing huge amounts of wakeups To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/194489/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
