In the Grub boot-loader I removed "quite" and "splash" kernel boot options. And this was the last error message I saw before screen froze: fb: conflicting fb hw usage radeondrmfb vs EFI VGA - removing generic driver
If I add "nomodeset" to the kernel boot options then I am able to get past that error message and atleast have access to command line. If I do xstart then then it complained with "Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration." By the way I have MacBookPro 8,2 with external AMD graphics card. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816689 Title: Ubuntu 11.10 Daily Build (2011-07-26) won't boot (alternate amd64+mac) on a newer MacBook Pro To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/syslinux/+bug/816689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
