I'm seeing the same problem, but I've been running natty for months. All of a sudden, my vlc installation stopped working and I'm unable to figure out what changed - I've been receiving "Bus error" notices. I've tried removing/reinstalling vlc, and the installation hangs up at configuring vlc-nox with the following message:
$ sudo dpkg --configure vlc-nox Setting up vlc-nox (1.1.9-1ubuntu1.3) ... Bus error dpkg: error processing vlc-nox (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 135 Errors were encountered while processing: vlc-nox -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/890037 Title: package vlc-nox 1.1.9-1ubuntu1.3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/890037/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
