I'm afraid I'm involved in this, too. I have one of those nice Logitech webcam 250s that comes with a mike. It's SPLENDID. Simple, in the right place, and nothing to tinker- just plug and play. Until now.
I can fiddle with the controls (internal audio versus usb mike) and it acts like I'm speaking another language; the fiddling has no particular sequence to it...and sometimes turning it OFF and ON works, but not when I start relying on it in GoogleTalk. Mine was an upgrade from Natty; I've not even unplugged the device since the upgrade-n-reboot. Please let me know if I can do anything to help....I just really don't know where to go for diagnostics for this.
