Adding to my last comment, after Googling for a bit, there's also this: http://www.livingonthecloud.net/2011/08/mac-os-x-lion-and-cups- printing.html
The suggestion there seems to be that creating a class that contains your printer *might* somehow help. I'm not convinced, personally, but it's probably worth setting up another IPP printer to check it. Leave the current SMB printer as it is, so you can still actually print when you need to! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/883585 Title: Kubuntu 11.10 -- Network/Local Printers found but cannot print - Unable to get printer status To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/883585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
