I am experiencing the same issue!
This is really annoying as not only does the window shift upwards but when 
using eg. a web browser, it seems that the mouse is clicking where the links 
would have been if the window was maximized properly (ie without the shift 
upwards) rather than where they are. (in the print screen I have posted you can 
see that my mouse is thinking that it is pointing at the link although it is 
actually below it).
