I see the problem. There was an incorrect v ersion of perl (compiled for a different architecture) in /usr/local/bin/perl and that was apparently used during the installation of rsyslog . I have removed that bogus file and will re-run the udpate as soon as it finishes. I'm confident it will all work OK the next time.
Sorry for the bogus report (though it might be good to specifically use /usr/bin/perl). --- Marnix A. van Ammers -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/887330 Title: package rsyslog 4.6.4-2ubuntu4.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 126 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsyslog/+bug/887330/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
